Instruction Librarian/Assistant Professor (tenure-track), 12-month position -- Sam Houston State University -- Huntsville, TX

Sam Houston State University is looking for an innovative, enthusiastic librarian interested in providing research and instructional services. The Instruction Librarian will serve as the Library’s expert for instructional methodologies and techniques, and work collaboratively with the Research & Instruction librarians to develop and implement a programmatic approach to in-person and online information literacy instruction.

Duties include teaching library instruction classes for undergraduate and graduate students, providing reference/research assistance, including one evening per week and some rotating weekend hours, and participating in collection development.

A degree from an American Library Association accredited master’s program is required; education and/or experience in teaching, pedagogy, instructional design, or information literacy instruction is highly desired.

This is a tenure-track position with scholarship and service expectations.

Salary dependent on qualifications; minimum salary is $48,000 for this entry-level position.
