Director - Learning Resource Center -- Midland College -- Midland, TX

Work Location: Main Campus - 3600 N. Garfield, Midland, TX

Job Summary:
The Director of the Learning Resource Center is responsible for the daily and continuing operation of the Learning Resource Center (LRC).

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an American Library Association accredited school in Library Science, Library and Information Science, or Information Science
  • Experience in the administration of a library or learning resource center for three or more years
  • General knowledge of integrated library systems software, networking, and resource sharing issues
  • Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate from a regionally accredited university

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as primary administrator and administrative liaison for the LRC
  • Coordinates services of all Library departments and personnel
  • Manages the LRC budget
  • Plans for continuing and future activities of the LRC
  • Leads the LRC staff in the integration of library services into academic programs through connections with Faculty across divisions
  • Supervises and evaluates the LRC staff
  • Provides opportunities for LRC staff training and development
  • Monitors advances in related technology and library applications, applying them as appropriate to the LRC
  • Represents the LRC in professional meetings, activities, and associations
  • Periodically reviews performance of the LRC and makes appropriate adjustments
  • Promotes the use of library services to support the curriculum and enhance lifelong learning for students, faculty, staff, and the community
  • Other duties as assigned

Min Salary: 60,000 per year
Max Salary: 65,000 per year
Pay Statement Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
